My Top Twenty Disney Songs!

Hey! This is my blog and this post is all about... My favourite Disney songs!

20) You'll Be In My Heart- Tarzan

This song is so emotional and cute- I just love it! It definitely gives out a positive message about loving your family and although it may seem soppy it is an inspirational song :)

19) Reflection- Mulan
Awww, Disney is great at having inspirational morals in their films and this song is all about just being yourself and standing up for what you think is right, so that is why I love this song <3

18) Beauty And The Beast- Beauty And The Beast

This pop ballad describes the relationship between the two protagonists of the film. Sung by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson, it is a classic love song, almost like a haunting lullaby! Love it <3

17) Under The Sea- The Little Mermaid

I love this song + Sebastian's accent! I once got really quite annoyed when some Year 7's at my school did a performance of it without the Jamaican accent! It's just so happy and cheerful but at the same time there is an underlying message about appreciating what you have in life, which is what makes it so memorable.

16) Be Our Guest- Beauty And The Beast

It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure... that I love this song! Influenced by the genres of French Music and Musical Theatre, which I love, it does have a kind of cheese-factor about it, but it's just one of those songs that everyone can enjoy!

15) I Just Can't Wait To Be King- The Lion King

This lively tune is one that's bound to get stuck in your head! The contrast between Nala and Simba, the playful, childish lion cubs, and Zazu, the nosy, bossy hornbill makes the song comedic and its jazzy influences make it hard to forget!

14) Humuhumunukunukuapua'a- High School Musical 2

Betcha didn't know that Humuhumunukunukuapua'a is actually a type of Hawaiian fish called the Reef Triggerfish! The teen-pop hit was sung by Ashley Tisdale as Sharpay Evans, and tells the story of a girl, her prince and her fish, named Humuhumunukunukuapua'a! :)

13) Colors Of The Wind- Pocahontas

The pop/r&b tune that is so well known to this generation has its roots in Native American culture and is all about not taking things for granted; appreciating nature and not abusing nature's powers. Overall it is a great, moving song that will live forever <3

12) Love Is An Open Door- Frozen

SPOILER ALERT!
This goofy love song is sung by Anna and Hans, during Elsa's Coronation Day, shows how in love (but also naive) Anna is, because although they seem made for each other, Hans is hiding a secret that could ruin Anna's life. This song shows how willing Hans is to get what he wants, which is great as it links it to the main plot brilliantly!

11) Breaking Free- High School Musical

This is one of the songs at the climax at the film, which means it is widely known and is a cute duet to perform. I remember we performed it in a school play in Year 4, when everyone was still hyped up about the then still relatively-new film! It also has a great moral about being individual :)

10) It's A Small World- Fantasyland

Ok, so I know not many people are fans of this song- my family all think it is very annoying! But, contrary to what they think, I love this- it's so happy-go-lucky and promotes world peace :)

9) Circle Of Life- The Lion King

Did you know that the first bit of this song, sung in Swahili, translates into English as:
"There comes a lion
Oh yes, it's a lion
There comes a lion
Oh yes, it's a lion
We're going to conquer
It's a lion and a tiger"

Such an uplifting song about life!

8) Can You Feel The Love Tonight?- The Lion King

This song is a perfect example of how song can express love better than words can. It's so cute and has to be one of my favourite love songs!

To this:

7) Do You Want to Build a Snowman?- Frozen
Awww I love this song, because Anna is so caring about her sister and really misses her- it definitely shows a true sisterly bond between Anna and Elsa!

6) Go The Distance- Hercules
This song is very powerful and emotive, as it is all about Hercules finding out who he truly is. We performed this in choir at Primary School, and the lyrics have a strong meaning behind them, one of standing out and finding where you belong.

5) When She Loved Me- Toy Story
I love this, as it is true, how people grow up and move on from their childhood, but it is never truly forgotten.
Have you heard of the theory between Andy's mum and Jessie's owner?:
Read it- it will BLOW YOUR MIND!

4) For The First Time In Forever (and reprise)- Frozen
This really is a good song! The original is a perfect mix of Anna's (Kristen Bell) energetic spirit and Elsa's (Idina Menzel) fearful pessimism, whilst the reprise shows how much the sisters have changed throughout the film.

3) Part Of Your World- The Little Mermaid
Despite the fact that the song never actually says the words "part of your world"- it always says "part of that world", it is a fab song! It's about Ariel breaking the traditions and beginning to find herself.

2) Let It Go (Both versions)- Frozen
I love the film Frozen, especially the amazing songs, as you may have already realised! This version of Let It Go, sung by Idina Menzel, is great for the film as it is a better way to describe the part of the film than having to have a long monologue.
The original version of the song was sung by Demi Lovato, and, although I love both versions of the song, this one is my favourite! I am a huge Lovatic and this song describes Demi's struggles and so is emotional and many people can relate to it <3

Finally, the moment you have been waiting for...

1) So Far So Great- Sonny With A Chance
I know its not a classic Disney song, but...
This is the theme song to one of my all-time favourite tv shows, which was on Disney Channel between 2009-2011, starring Demi Lovato <3 This is a great song, because it is very catchy and is about living life to the fullest :) I was very sad for Sonny With A Chance to end, but I still love this song and I still watch old episodes of SWAC xxx

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed!
